Karamasow is the largest of three projects with the Jugendtheaterwerkstatt Spandou under the direction of Manuel and Pommerehn. The JTW is a nonprofessional ensemble consisting of persons from all walks of life and age. The JTW has a prestigious reputation as one of the best amateur theater company’s in Germany. Its works have been included in festivals for professional theaters and have toured in other European countries. The motto of the company is everyone who is willing to work hard is welcome on their stage.

Karamasow

Einer der größten und komplexesten Romane der Weltliteratur, ein 30-köpfiges Laienensemble, runde vier Stunden Spielzeit und als Zielgruppe Jugendliche ab 15 Jahren - kann das allen Ernstes gut gehen? One of the longest and most complex novels in world literature, an ensemble of 30 amateur performers, about four hours playing time and targeted to an audience of youngsters age 15 and up – seriously, can this combination go well? And how! The JugendtheaterWerkstadt Spandau makes a generational drama out of Dostoevsky’s widely ramified original that packs such a powerful impact, it takes your breath away.
